My Experience with Buying an Electric Tankless Water Heater
January 3, 2013
It has been a while since I last posted but I had taken a break from blogging and focused on getting my life in order; sorting out work life, private life but now that is all in order I can now get back to stuff that has peaked my interest. A couple of months my huge 30 gallon tank water heater was on the blink – meaning it was just about done. This is when I took it upon my self to go out shopping online to find a replacement that would match my needs. I’m very fussy when it comes to expensive purchases online so here are my thoughts regarding a purchase of a water heater and hope it helps someone in the same position.

My house is a medium sized building with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. I had the previous 30 gallon tank when I moved in 5 years ago. It looked pretty worn out then so you can imagine what it was like just before it finished up on me. It was a big, old ugly thing that took up the majority of my cupboard, where I struggled to store anything else but this big, ugly water heater. A couple of months ago I switched my tap on to wash the dishes and there was no hot water. After phoning a technician they said it was finished and that I needed a new one. I was pretty gutted when I was given this news because I knew I was going to have to fork out quite a lot of cash for a replacement. But I bit the bullet and started investigating for a replacement.
After doing quite a bit of research I worked out I was spending far too much on my energy bills as this was an inefficient tank water heater. So basically throughput the day the heater would heat up water just in case in needed the hot water which of course was costing me money so decided to go with a tankless water heater. These systems only heat up water when requested ie when you turn the tap on or the shower, the tankless immediately heats up water. This I worked out would save not only energy but also money which of course impressed me. I didn’t buy any tankless but an electric water heater. Research has shown these new electric tankless water heaters can save up to 80% in energy. So even though this was costing quite a lot up front, I worked out this new system was actually saving me money every year. After 5 years I would make my money back. I was delighted when I worked this out.
So basically if you have an old hot water heater costing you a lot of money each year on your heating bills, you should consider changing over to a new, efficient tankless electric water heater which may seem costly at first but will save you money in the long run.
Mind Mapping Software From MindGenius
December 21, 2010
Whilst I was away I found something else that certainly peaked my interest. Now this isn’t fashion but it certainly is stuff. I came across MindGenius Mind Mapping Software. This was recommended to me by a friend and I now use this mind map software for everything. I use it for work when I’m planning projects and brainstorming for ideas. I use it at home for creating shopping lists and for note taking. For those that don’t know, a Mind Map is a diagram used to represent thoughts and ideas with branches extending from each idea centered round a specific keyword or idea. It has been suggested that the mind mapping technique can improve learning/study efficiency up to 15% over conventional note taking. Thank you MindGenius! I mind map everything in my life right now. At the weekend, before my weekly shop, I will map out all the things I need to buy or could potentially buy and rank them in order of importance. Just in time for Christmas! I don’t know how I survived without mind maps before. Check out MindGenius Mind Mapping Software yourself!
Jo For Girls Designer Jewellery
October 28, 2010
This is my first post in a long time, I do apologise. Whilst I have been away, I have found an amazing website that specialises in jewellery for children. The amount of choice and variety of jewellery impressed me. With Christmas looming, I have been rather stuck as to what I would get my young niece. I came across Jo For Girls by chance and I thank the fashion Gods i did. Jo For Girls have a beautiful collection of designer silver jewellery ranging from Beads to Bracelets and from Charms to Necklaces. Childrens Jewellery have never looked so amazing. I decided to go with a lovely little bracelet and a couple of charms. That should please her. Don’t worry she is too young to read this. Here are a few items i’m considering buying. Check out the Jo For Girls website yourself.
Summer Sale!
June 28, 2010
It is now late June and just so happens to be my favourite time of the year – it’s Sale time! There are some brilliant sales on right now with offers of up to 50% off as all the big brands try to get rid of the Spring/Summer collection and bring in the new Autumn/Winter range. I’ve already spent a fair bit of money on the Reiss sale. I’ve had my eye on this casual jacket for a while but it has always been outside of my price range. However, I bought it for £79, down from £159, now that’s a saving!
iPhone 4 Has Arrived!
June 25, 2010
The iPhone 4 has finally arrived after months if not years of anxious waiting. People have queued up for days to be the lucky ones to actually buy an iPhone 4 on the day of release, why they don’t just pre-order online and save the hassle of queuing still baffles me? Apple claims its display and larger battery gives the phone 40% more talk time; they say owners will be able to browse a 3G network for 6 hours before recharging. The camera, which many considered poor in previous models, has been improved and the phone is powered by Apple’s new Operating System, iOS 4.
The newest version of the iPhone has not arrived without its criticism. On launch day various complaints were made about how holding the new iPhone by its sides can decrease reception quality. Steve Jobs, co founder and chief executive officer of Apple, has actually come out and addressed these issues by saying, “stop holding the phone that way” and “buy a case.” He never was one to beat around the bush.
Parklife Festival 2010
June 22, 2010
Grab your tent and wellies, it’s that time of the year again – it’s Festival season! Tickets were sold in record time out for the hotly anticipated Parklife Festival 2010 situated in England’s Manchester. The Parklife festival takes place annually in Manchester’s Platt Fields with this year featuring over 40 acts across 6 stages with a line up that consisted of names such as Friendly Fires and Booka Shade. There was a real emphasis on value for money, top quality acts and other kinds of madness planned in order to kick start Summer with a bang. There are still opportunities to acquire tickets through competitions in the Bench Live website for other festivals such as Melt and Creamfields. The opportunity to win festival tickets will still be appealing to many. I will certainly try to win a ticket. For more information about the Parklife Festival and other music events, check out the Bench Live website – my favourite place to get the latest news and views from the music world.
Katy Perry Style!
June 18, 2010
Since Katy Perry burst onto the scene in 2008 with the controversial song ‘I kissed a girl’, she has sold hundreds of thousands records as well as reaching the front of top fashion magazines. Thus, media attention has incessantly followed her wherever she goes. However, every picture I see her in she just looks great. She has such an original, unique fashion sense that has attracted the attention of the top fashion labels. Her style is one of quirkiness but does quite reach the level of eccentricity of other famous names such as Lady Gaga. Here she sports a few outfits that are reminiscent of 40s styling, a look she suits well.
