Since Katy Perry burst onto the scene in 2008 with the controversial song ‘I kissed a girl’, she has sold hundreds of thousands records as well as reaching the front of top fashion magazines. Thus, media attention has incessantly followed her wherever she goes. However, every picture I see her in she just looks great. She has such an original, unique fashion sense that has attracted the attention of the top fashion labels. Her style is one of quirkiness but does quite reach the level of eccentricity of other famous names such as Lady Gaga. Here she sports a few outfits that are reminiscent of 40s styling, a look she suits well.

The 2010 Football World Cup has got underway; therefore not for the first time this post has a football theme. Some of the greatest players in the World have descended upon the southern most tip of Africa to ply their trade. However, the life of a footballer does not solely involve the kicking of the ball. They also have to perform some strenuous modelling. These are some of the best dressed men in Football.

One of my favourite clothing brands has just built a new micro site called Bench Live (www.bench-live.com). This new website has been launched to increase Bench’s brand awareness and help Bench promote their music heritage that they are heavily involved in. In recent years Bench has been associated with Festivals such as Manchester’s Parklife Festival, Creamfields and Liverpool Sound City. I’ve had a browse through the website and it looks great. Bench Live provides you with information about forthcoming festivals and music events. You can purchase tickets to these events through this site and the opportunity to take part in competitions in order to win free tickets. There are interviews with music stars such as Lisa Lashes, Paul Van Dyke and The Sunshine Underground. There are fashion tips to what to wear to these events with a link back to the Bench Shop website. Basically everything you need if you’re a clothes and music fan…which I am.

One look that will stay around for a while is the lumberjack look. These are casual shirts that are checked (tartanesque) and provides the image that you cut down trees for a living. I do like the look, it is just so common though. Absolutely everyone has one of these checked casual shirts. I am even wearing one of these shirts as I am writing this. I would wear these shirts more often it they were a bit more original. However, some of my favourites come courtesy of Bench who have a cool range of casual shirts.

Mark Ronson has to be one of the best dressed men out there right now, providing inspiration for all men. He is constantly being snapped in fresh, original outfits. He does’nt so much as follow trends but sets them. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to find out that Gucci have asked Mark Ronson to design a limited edition range of trainers that will be sold exclusively in a new store, Gucci Icon-Temporary that recently opened up in London. Again, no surprise that these shoes are styled with Ronson’s iconic look – one being polka-dot and the other grey flannel. Both look great!
This Summer’s Perfect Outfit

As it is approaching summer I have decided to post my ideal outfit for this season. After looking through various brands, I decided to go with Reiss as their new SS10 collection is pretty cool. I think this outfit not only looks great but also looks really comfortable. Sometimes comfort is sacrificed for style but not this time. I’ve gone for a casual look but there still remains a level of sophistication that i like. I don’t usually wear hats but I think once again hats will be huge this summer and I’m really digging this one. The casual jacket will be ideal for protection against the chill of the summer nights.

World Cup Fever!

The four year wait is nearly over; the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa will soon be underway. ONLY 35 DAYS TO GO! The world’s greatest players along with hundreds of thousands of fans will descend upon the south coast of Africa to take in what is arguably the greatest sporting event in the world. Various countries around the globe will come to a standstill to watch their team try to become the best Football nation on the planet. Pubs will be packed to the rafters, partners will be forgotten about and pets will go hungry as all attention shifts to South Africa. This is the first time the Football World Cup has been held in Africa and consequently the major sporting brands are queuing up to get involved in all things African. Newly designed t-shirts, jeans, sweaters and jeggings have been created with an African flavour. Many clothing brands are starting to jump on the Football bandwagon as World Cup fever takes over. Some of the best examples include Gio Goi’s own brand of Football Tees. These are t-shirts specifically designed for the World Cup.
